Capital One Shopping Portal has recently removed some popular gift card redemption options like Walmart, Safeway, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Petco. However, they have added new brands including CVS, SiriusXM, and a few others. It's important to note that the portal doesn't allow direct cashing out of rewards, and instead requires the purchase of a gift card. Walmart and Safeway were among the most commonly used cash-out options, but there are still many top brand redemption options available such as Home Depot, Lowe's, eBay, Kohl's, Nike, and more.
Personally, I have always redeemed my rewards via Walmart gift cards. However, since I don't shop at any of the newly added brands consistently, I may not be using the portal as much in the future. If you have a Capital One credit card, it's worth checking if the rewards program within your bank login offers similar or even better rates for cashing out rewards as a statement credit.
