Are you a Delta and Starbucks fan? If so, you may be disappointed to hear that their partnership has undergone some changes. Previously, customers could earn one Delta mile for every dollar spent on Starbucks purchases, which could be stacked with earning Starbucks stars. However, this perk has now been replaced with earning miles for reloading funds onto your Starbucks account. You can earn 25 miles for loading $25-$49.99, 50 miles for loading $50-$74.99, 125 miles for loading $75-$99.99, or 200 miles for loading $100 or more. Unfortunately, you no longer earn miles for drink purchases.
While there are still ways to earn bonus funds on Starbucks gift cards through promotions and sales, reloads made from these cards onto your account won't earn any miles. However, if you buy Starbucks on the same day as a departing Delta flight, you will earn double stars. Despite these changes, it's clear that this partnership has devalued the program for customers.
