Delta Offers Refunds and Waives Baggage Fees for Up to 300lbs after Days of Meltdown
Delta Airlines suffered a major outage caused by Friday's Crowdstrike/Windows outage, which affected systems worldwide. The airline was hit particularly hard, with Delta canceling a whopping 36% of flights and delaying another 45% on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and yesterday. To make matters worse, Delta failed to communicate the ban on passengers under 18 flying without an adult from Friday through yesterday, causing much consternation among affected parties.
Despite its premium marketing, Delta has been stingy with compensation, offering just a piddling amount to passengers who were impacted by the outage. However, things are finally looking up, with only 1% of flights canceled and 19% delayed today.
