Chase has reportedly shut down the accounts of Aeroplan cardholders who abused the Pay Yourself Back (PYB) feature of the card. This feature allows cardholders to redeem Aeroplan miles for 1.25 cents against travel charges on the card with no limit. However, Chase has closed accounts of those who redeemed 5,000,000 miles not earned on the card towards Chase travel purchases.
While this may not be a surprise, it is worth noting for those who use this feature of the card. From 2024 onwards, there will be a cap of 50,000 miles.
