
United Airlines Apologizes for Meltdown with 30,000 Miles: Is Their Compensation Adequate?
Last week proved to be a tumultuous time for US airlines and the air traffic control system. Amidst widespread issues, United Airlines faced the greatest challenges, particularly in recovering from extensive cancellations and delays in NYC and beyond. Adding insult to injury, their CEO, Scott Kirby, chose to escape the chaos by taking a private jet to Denver instead of offering assistance or support to his overwhelmed staff.
This decision garnered well-deserved criticism until he finally apologized. As my family experienced firsthand while traveling to NYC for a wedding, it took an agonizing five days for everyone to finally make it home.
