Chase has announced that the Chase Starbucks card will be discontinued and existing cardholders will be transitioned to the Chase Freedom Unlimited card. This decision comes after Chase had paused applications for the card in June 2022. The original Chase Starbucks card was launched in 2018 but failed to gain much traction.
Cardholders have reported receiving a letter stating that the transition will take place on July 20, 2023. It remains to be seen if Starbucks will partner with another co-branded partner to issue a new card.
