This year, Marriott and Hyatt have devalued their points, but they're not the only ones. Hotels.com has announced changes to its rewards program that will take effect in mid-2023. Currently, Hotels.com awards one stamp for each hotel night and after earning 10 stamps, customers receive a free night equal to the average amount spent on those 10 nights. This amounts to an effective 10% rebate, making their value proposition stronger, especially for those who prefer earning rebates over hotel points. However, come mid-2023, the program will be replaced with One Key, a rewards program that will apply to Hotels.com, Expedia, and Vrbo. The announcement promises instant rewards instead of waiting for 10 stays. However, customers will now earn only 2% back. Keep this in mind when booking through online travel agencies.
