Prime Minister Netanyahu is optimistic that Israel will be allowed to join by September, despite pushback from left-wing media in the country. One point of contention is the US requirement for every US citizen to be able to enter Israel and the West Bank. The COVID-19 pandemic has also put pressure on Israel to join the program this year, as applications have declined.
