In a previous article, I questioned United's decision to hire Richard Nunn as CEO of MileagePlus due to his lack of airline experience and previous role at Comcast. It appears my concerns were valid as United has already made several negative changes to their reward program. Saver award rates to Europe have increased by 33%, as well as rates for Air Canada and business class flights to Europe.
These ongoing devaluations are reminiscent of the tactics used by Comcast. It remains to be seen what other changes United will make in the future.
